JVC Disc America was a US manufacturer of CDs and DVDs under parent company JVC Disc America Co. and was a subsidiary of JVC America, Inc.
The company operated two plants in the US; one in Tuscaloosa, AL (this one) and one in Sacramento, CA - JVC CA.

1987 – Incorporated for business in USA in April. Opened first replication plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, USA, April 15th.
1996 – Opened fulfillment center in Kennesaw, Georgia
1997 – Opened second replication plant in Sacramento, CA and started DVD production
2000 – Expanded Sacramento, CA plant and selected as Microsoft Xbox launch partner
2002 – Closed replication plant in Sacramento, CA
2005 – Expanded fulfillment operations in Kennesaw
2008 – Expanded warehouse in Kennesaw, changed name from JVC Disc America to JVC America and became subsidiary of JVC Kenwood
2014 – Sold to Cinram Group

The Plant can be identified by a combination of the following indicators.
• “JVC” or “MFD JVC” sometimes printed in matrix. Examples Celtic Voices: Women Of Song, John Denver's Greatest Hits Volume 2.
• Glass Master SID codes IFPI L238, IFPI L239, IFPI L240, IFPI L241, IFPI L247, IFPI L248, IFPI L250.
• Mould SID codes IFPI 41** (excluding the JVC CA codes IFPI 4131, IFPI 4141 ).
• The basic matrix format usually has the core structure of [Client catalogue number/Identifier] [number capital letter] [nn]. The [number capital letter] segment tending to use a unique letter for the different glass master SIDs over time. Example From The Muddy Banks Of The Wishkah.
• Additions to the basic format also occur, such as a ‘K’ being added to identify the release as using the proprietary K2 mastering. Example It's About Time.
• Use of the proprietary K2/XRD logos in artwork.

2. In 2014 JVC Disc America, Tuscaloosa was sold to Cinram and was closed by them in 2015.
3. The manufacturing assets were subsequently sold to Technicolor later that year and IFPI L247 & IFPI L248 then moved to Technicolor Mexicana S. de R.L. de C.V..
4. For the IFPI L247 & IFPI L248 glass master SID codes, an indicator for Cinram is the use of IFPI 2U** SID mould codes and for Technicolor Mexicana S. de R.L. de C.V. the use of IFPI KK** SID mould codes.
