I always loved the Sonic soundtracks but always felt like STH 3, STH CD and Sonic 3D never really got definitive versions. Either the audio quality sucked, they didnt release any official OSTs, the tracks dont loop and have weird endings or tracks are missing. There was always something suboptimal for me. All the Megadrive tracks were rendered with XMPlay since that gave me the best audio quality. I did also check out some high res console recordings but they all sounded meh and noisy. The STH CD music was all based on the original 90s Redbook audio CDs both from the released games but also beta leaks since the beta leaks actually didnt have bad fade outs and it made it a lot easier for me to do quality loops. I also sourced nothing from the 2011 Japan OST since it always sounded awfully clipped to me and the dynamic range on the 90s CDs is way better. Well except the two exclusive remixes from the 2011 Japan CD which I included too. Also the Gems Collection remixes are based on the recently released streaming digital masters. The remix CD is also included. Basically everything is included with the exception of jingles and I think two instrumental versions from some remaster port which were low quality and only a thing because of some vocals or lyrics rights problems on SEGAs end. Sonic 3D Blast has both the Megadrive music as well as Saturn Redbook audio which was also properly looped and edited by me. Everything should sound crystal clear and was also declipped, declicked and all the other usual mastering improvements. Many looping points had custom editing done by me for smoother loops or endings. I also included unused patterns which were discovered in beta leaks. But check for yourself and see. Its a lot to go through and my documentations that come with all my downloads include even more information than what I write here.
