rainyday wrote on BTX:
Separate people did not cut/master any of the Western Stars variants, they’re all drawn from lacquers cut by Chris Bellman at Bernie Grundman mastering in LA. ... The chain of Bob Ludwig to Chris Bellman is just one of the best there is. For whatever anomalies exist in the variants of the Western Stars project, I have to say, besides being a extraordinary record in songwriting/music, everything from the art to the different colored‐vinyl pressings is top notch and pretty stunning – they really got it so right. If there are a lot of bad ones in the bunch, it happened at the plant level and that’s too bad. I do remember the vinyl being delayed, so they may have rejected a ton of them too. I have all four variants and none of mine have any issues that I can’t live with, understanding everything I’ve said above.
