Interestingly, the sample credit for "Friend of Mine" has composition credits listed that do not match the credits on Notorious B.I.G's "Ready to Die. In particular, Dennis D.T. Thomas is credited as "Thomas Muhammed"; Don Boyce, Richard Westfield, Robert Spike Mickens and Otha Nash get no credit, and James "J.T" Taylor gets a credit that's not on Friend of Mine. All of these appear to relate to issues with the underlying Kool & The Gang credit for "Spirit of the Boogie".
Similarly for the composition credits for the sample of "Respect". Here Jean Claude Olivier (Poke), Sean Combs and Richard Finch are credited, whereas on "Ready to Die" they are not, but Diana King gets a credit.
