The Sweetest Sounds (Friars Club tribute to Barbra Streisand)

~ Recording by Richard Rodgers

Annotation

In a short tribute to Streisand, Rodgers recited a reworded version of "The Sweetest Sounds" for the occasion. The original song was from the 1962 Broadway musical, No Strings, which incidentally, was the only Broadway score he had written without a collaborator.

"Streisand was awarded “Entertainer of the Year” by the Friars, making her the second woman to be honored in the theatrical organization's 65-year history! (Lucille Ball was the first)."
