Annotation
This is a recording of the original version of the work composed in 1923. There is also a reworked version from 1948.
The recording is the last part (vol. 7) of the Paul Hindemith Anthology series released during the years 1972 - 1977 by GSC Recordings. The whole series volumes:
- 1 Canonic variations, for 2 violins. 2 duets, for violin and clarinet. Sonata, for bassoon and piano. Kleine Klaviermusik ; 12 easy pieces on 5 notes, for piano.
- 2 Die Serenaden, op. 35 ; little cantata on romantic texts [for] soprano, oboe, viola [and] cello. Sonata in B-flat, for trumpet and piano.
- 3 Sonata, for flute and piano. Echo, for flute and piano. Sonata, for solo cello, op. 25, no. 3. Duet, for viola and cello.
