Brighter Now (2025 remaster)

~ Release by The Legendary Pink Dots (see all versions of this release, 8 available)

Annotation

Considered by many to be The Pink Dots' debut album, although it was, in reality, the first time the band recorded an entire work on professional equipment ( an 8 track studio purchased from Pink Floyd's Nick Mason in a garden shed!). Phaze label owner Pat Bermingham engineered and released the initial result on cassette in 1982. Pat became an acquaintance of Douglas Pearce (Death in June / New European Records ) who worked for Rough Trade, and the pair surprisingly expressed a wish for an extended version to be committed to vinyl. This remastered release includes the one track that was different on the original tape version (Apocalypse Then). All the music on the original tape was composed by Michael Marshall, while April White penned the lovely piano composition, "The Wedding".
