Notes
This is the late 2 cd reissue (previous 2 LP contained less cuts, with a different order and cutting).
This somewhat complex performance organizes as follow:
Disc 1:
- the seven first tracks feature a formation advertised as the Chick Webb Orchestra. Fitzgerald is on three of the cuts (#4-6)
- Fitzgerald is then showcased with Ellis Larkins for three duo cuts (#9-11)
- the four remaining tracks feature the so-called "Carnegie All-Stars" (without Fitzgerald), which is Fitzgerald regular quartet combo extended by Al Grey, Roy Eldridge and Eddie Lockjaw Davis
Disc 2:
- the first track continues the previous All-Stars performance (same personnel)
- the remainder of the disc is Fitzgerald plus her quartet combo, with the exception of a pair of interlude on which she doesn't sing, and the Don't Worry / Foolish medley on which she is in duo with Joe Pass
The All-Stars medley on this disc was previously released as three tracks.
