Tracks CD1-1 to CD1-3 were recorded in mono on Wednesday, 19th of November 1970 at Paris Theatre, London and were produced by Jeff Griffin. They were broadcast on 29th of November 1970 as "John Peel's Sunday Concert" and repeated on 2nd of December on "Sounds of the Seventies".

Tracks CD1-4 & CD1-5 were recorded in mono on Friday evening, 1st of January 1971 at Maida Vale Studio 5 and were produced by John Muir. They were aired on "Sounds of the Seventies" on 11th of January and were presented by Bob Harris.

Tracks CD1-6 & CD1-7 were recorded in mono on the afternoon of 21st of April 1971 at Maida Vale Studio 4 and were produced by Malcolm Brown. They were aired on 29th of April and repeated on 27th of May on "The Stuart Henry Show". These two tracks were issued on a BBC Transcription Services Top Of The Pops mono LP with introductions from the deejay Keith Skues. The two cuts were released commercially in 1995 on the Band of Joy CD, Live At The BBC. CD1-6 also features on the BBC Transcription Services Pick Of The Pops For Your D.J.-347 mono/stereo LP for overseas radio broadcast.

Tracks CD1-8 to CD1-11 were recorded in mono on the afternoon and evening of 5th of July 1971 at Playhouse Theatre and were produced by John Walters. They were broadcast on 10th of July on John Peel's Top Gear. CD1-8 was issued by the BBC Transcription Services Top Of The Pops LP (with the introductions by DJ Brian Matthews), on Pick Of The Pops For Your D.J.-353 mono/stereo LP (for overseas radio broadcast) and commercially on Band of Joy's Live At The BBC.

Tracks CD1-12 to CD1-14 were recorded on the evening of 18th October 1971 at BBC Transcription Services' Studio T1, Kensington House in Shepherd's Bush and were produced by John Muir. They were broadcast on 1st of November by Bob Harris on "Sound of the Seventies" and repeated on 13th of December. CD1-14 was replayed on 20th of October 1972 on a further edition of "Sound of the Seventies". The three recordings were issued in stereo on the B side of Pick Of The Pops For Your D.J.-367 LP. CD1-14 was issued in mono on a Top Of The Pops LP and commercially on Band of Joy's CD Live At The BBC.

Tracks CD2-1 to CD2-8 were recorded in the evening of 25th of May 1972 at Paris Theatre, London and were produced by Jeff Griffin. The host of the programme was Bob Harris. Although it was recorded in stereo, the original show would have been heard in mono over AM radio on the 3rd of June (without CD2-3 & CD2-4). The first stereo broadcast, introduced by Andy Peebles, occurred on Sunday 20th of July 1986 as part of the Beeb's Classic Concert series. A 58-minute edit of the programme was issued on a stereo LP by the BBC Transcription Services as Stereo Pop Special-18 for overseas radio broadcast only. A longer mono version was released commercially in 1991 by Windsong as BBC Radio 1 Live in Concert. Six tracks (excluding CD2-3 & CD2-4) also features on MCA Records's Argus, released in 2007.

Tracks CD3-1 to CD3-3 were recorded in mono in the afternoon and evening of 18th of April 1972 across two Maida Vale Studio 4 sessions and were produced by John Walters. They were broadcast on 25th April on The John Peel Show. The session take of CD3-2 was issued by BBC Transcription Services on the Top Of The Pops-391 mono LP with introductions by Brian Matthew in May 1972. The second side of the LP, entitled "Pops Extra", with no DJ presentation, includes CD3-3.

Tracks CD3-4 to CD3-10 were recorded in the evening of 14th of February 1974 at Paris Theatre, London and were produced by Jeff Griffin. The BBC In Concert show was broadcast on 23rd of February and repeated the next day, presented by former Radio Scotland deejay, the late Alan Black. CD3-6 to CD3-8 & CD3-10 were aired on three editions (9th of March, 23rd of March & 23rd of November) of the Alan Freeman Show in 1974. That was the last broadcast of Wishbone Ash' original line-up.

Tracks CD4-1 to CD4-5 were recorded on 19th of November 1976 at Apollo Theatre, Glasgow. The multi track recordings were mixed in stereo and aired on 9th of February 1977 on The John Peel Show. CD4-2, CD4-3 & CD4-5 were re-broadcast on three editions (12th of February, 16th of April & 17th of December) of Alan Freeman Radio Show in 1977. CD4-3 was previously released on the 1997 Repertoire Records 4CD set Distillation. This is the first "BBC appearance" of guitarist Lourie Wisefield with Wishbone Ash.

Tracks CD4-6 & CD4-7 were recorded in the summer of 1977 at Criteria Recording Studios. The mono audio 16mm colour film, introduced by Bob Harris, was broadcast on the 11th of October 1977 edition of BBC TV's The Old Grey Whistle Test. Audio of the two tracks were released commercially on Band of Joy's 1995 CD, Live At The BBC.
Tracks CD5-1 to CD5-9 were recorded on 17th of October at Apollo Theatre, Glasgow using Basing Street Mobile Recording Unit with multi-track tapes mixed to stereo. A 60-minute compilation from shows at Newcastle and Glasgow was mixed to stereo on 9th of November at Basing Street Studios and supplied to London Wavelength Inc. (an American subsidiary of the BBC Transcription Services) and issued as BBC Rock Hour #3 on two reels. The programme was only made available to US radio stations for intended broadcast during the week of 22nd of January 1978 and not for sale to the general public.

Track CD5-10 was recorded at Newcastle City Hall and is previously unreleased.

Tracks CD6-1 to CD7-6 were recorded on 25th of October 1978 at Hammersmith Odeon by the producer Pete Dauncey with the BBC Transcription Recording Unit on 16-track at 7.5ips, mixed to stereo. An edited set was aired on 11th of November as a BBC Radio 1 BBC In Concert programme. CD6-5 was previously released on the 1980 MCA Records album Live Dates: Volume Two. A 58-minute broadcast edit of the recording was issues on a stereo LP by the BBC Transcription Services in December 1978 as In Concert - 187 for overseas radio broadcast only. An alternative, longer edit, was issued on the London Wavelength BBC Rock Hour #48 and #49 as two reels of tape presented by BBC DJ Richard Skinner for broadcast on syndicated US radio stations on 3rd of December 1978.

Tracks CD7-7 to CD7-11 were recorded on 22nd of November 1979 at Empire Pool, Wembley by BBC Outside Broadcasting Unit and BBC Transcription Services as part of the OXFAM / UNICEF concert in aid of the International Year of the Child. Quad colour video and multi-track audio was mixed to stereo for broadcast on BBC2 TV on 1st of December, and BBC Radio 1 on 2nd of December.

Tracks CD8-1 to CD8-11 were recorded on 2nd of February at Hammersmith Odeon on multi-track recording, mixed to stereo. Captured by the BBC Transcription Recording Unit and producer Jeff Griffin, part of the performance was aired as a BBC Radio 1 BBC In Concert (Rock on Saturday), presented by the late Tommy Vance on 1st of March and broadcast again on 16th of August. A different 59min edit was issued on a stereo LP by the BBC Transcription Services in June 1980 as In Concert-226 for overseas radio broadcast only. An alternative 53min edit was issued on a London Wavelength BBC Rock Hour #121 LP and Reel, presented by deejay Richard Skinner for broadcast on syndicated US radio stations on Sunday 25th of May 1980. CD8-4 was previously released on the 1997 Repertoire Records 4CD set Distillation.

Tracks CD9-1 to CD10-3 were recorded on 2nd of June 1981 at Hammersmith Odeon. The performance was taped by BBC Transcription Recording Unit and partially aired as a BBC Radio 1 BBC In Concert programme on 4th of July. A 55-minute edit was issued on a stereo LP by the BBC Transcription Services in September 1981 as In Concert-260 for overseas radio broadcast only. The same edit was re-issued on a London Wavelength BBC Rock Hour LP presented by DJ Richard Skinner for broadcast on syndicated US radio stations in January 1982.

Tracks CD10-4 to CD10-7 were recorded in stereo on the afternoon and evening of 24th of May 1985 at Maida Vale Studio 4 and were produced by Tony Wilson. They were aired on 5th of July on BBC Radio 1's The Friday Rock Show Sessions presented by Tommy Vance and repeated on 27th of September. These four session tracks were previously released commercially on Lemon Recordings' 2018 2 CD reissue of the band's Raw to the Bone album.
Tracks CD11-1 to CD11-12 were recorded on 4th of March 1988 at Hammersmith Odeon on multi-track recording, mixed to stereo. Captured by the BBC Transcription Recording Unit, the performance was aired on 9th of April on BBC Radio 1 BBC In Concert - part of "The Stereo Sequence". A 58-minute edit was issued on a stereo LP by the BBC Transcription Services as In Concert-433 for overseas radio broadcast only. Previously unreleased commercially.

Tracks DVD1 to DVD6 were filmed in quad colour video and mono audio on Tuesday 12th of October 1971 at Television Centre, White City, London for the BBC TV's The Old Grey Whistle Test and aired on BBC2.

Tracks DVD7 & DVD8 were filmed on 16mm colour film and mono audio during May-July 1977 at Criteria Recording Studios during the "Front Page News" sessions and were broadcast on Tuesday, 11th of October 197 by BBC2 on The Old Grey Whistle Test, hosted by Bob Harris.

Tracks DVD-9 to DVD10 were filmed in colour by Mike Mansfield Enterprises and recorded on 24-track audio by Manor Mobile on Tuesday, 12th of February 1980 at Guildford Civic Hall, during "Just Testing" tour. The programme was broadcast on Tuesday, 13th of May by BBC2 on The Old Grey Whistle Test, presented by Anne Nightingale.
