A ~6:50 12" version was prepared using a slightly different mix with different drum fill panning, different intro synths, and added reverb. It was initially only released in 1983 on 12" in Italy (cat# VINX 1) and in the UK on a West German-made CD of the album. On reissues & compilations, it sometimes has the subtitle German 12" Mix or German 12" Remix, even though it was never released on 12" anywhere except Italy.

A 4:46 version was also prepared from the same mix, but without the extra reverb. This was released on all US editions of the album, which debuted on LP & cassette in January 1983, and on CD in mid-1987. It was also released in 1983 on 45 in Italy (cat# VIN 45064). On the 2016 deluxe reissue of the album, this version is called 7" Mix.
