The Complete Lester Young Studio Sessions on Verve

~ Release by Lester Young (see all versions of this release, 2 available)

Annotation

Label: Verve - Catalog #: 3145470872 - Format: 8CD
Additional:
Be it by its size, by its price, or by the variety of the material (Clef, Norgran, Verve, 1946-1959), this boxset is definitely not for casual listeners - who will probably be much happier with the sampler Lester Swings.
Hard-core jazz fans, although, will be delighted by this exhaustive insight at Young's later career - too often disregarded.
The last cd also contains a wealth of interesting interviews.
